This project we learned different techniques to using water color painting. After listening to the children's book about the rainbow fish we drew a fish with crayon and cut it out. We then got to paint the fish using two different techniques. I used solid fill color for the fins and face and ombré for the body. Lastly we wrote a story about our characteristics that make us special.
An extension activity you could do is have the students use both of their hands and possibly feet to create different animals. They can also pick a theme to go along with the animals they chose and create a background with watercolors. This allows the students to have more creativity in their painting using different hands and feet.
